Jesus is the New Adam prefigured by the old Adam through whom sin and death entered our lives. But through Jesus, life and grace entered the world. Having corrected in Himself the wrong of the first, Jesus retraced and opened for us again the gate to eternal life which was closed against us. We are therefore invited to fix our gaze on him and to learn from him who conquered the wiles and the deception of our ancient enemy, the devil.
