Have you seen a cartoon or comedy sketch where a less-than-clever person is painting the floor and manages to painted themselves into a corner? Well, in Judges chapter 6 we see that the Israelites (the Hebrews), the chosen people of God have done just that!
Through their disobedience they have ended up in a situation where their lives have been made a misery by a "bandit-style" nation called the Midianites. They live in perpetual fear and worry due to the constant attacks by the Midianites who regularly plunder their crops and cause havoc in their land.
Sometimes our life can feel like unwanted visitors have taken over and turned our situation upside down. Sometimes it feels like we're sitting in the front of the car but someone else is driving.
Let's take a look at exactly how they ended up with these problems and see if we can take a look at their dilemma from God's perspective.
The first step to demonstrating courage in the face of a dilemma is to acknowledge the situation but not to allow fear to overwhelm you or stop you from making steps to putting things right.
