Today, 8 May 2020, marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
For many, this would have been a day of celebration - the War in Europe was finally won. For others, the dread continued. Soldiers were still fighting against the Japanese. And then, there are those who have experienced tragedy - of losing a loved one, of carrying with them the horrors of war, of experiencing the pain of warfare.
Today, we pause to reflect. We hear the words of the prophet Micah looking forward to the day when wars would be over. We will pray the prayers that were used in Westminster Abbey when the war was finished. We will also observe the 2 minute silence.
There's also some community notices and the next Brain of the Week competition.
