What a predicament we're in..
Uncle Sam where've you been?
This country isn't in
The shape you envisioned for us back then..
You wanted taxation with representation
But now, the abuse of power is blatant
Corporations devoured the nation
The land of milk and honey, soured.. its population, complacent
We fought against aristocracy
De-throned the prince and the king
Established democracy
And spread our philosophy
A government by the People, for the People
This was our ideal
Taxes funded it by the People, for the People
But now we're given a raw deal
Inequality the likes of which you never imagined
Has left the zeitgeist bitter and ravaged
