Richard Schulman earned a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, where he did his doctoral dissertation on Eating Disorders. He completed an internship in Clinical Psychology at the Palo Alto Veterans Administration Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. He is a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida.
Dr. Schulman has expertise in individual, family and group psychotherapy. He has advanced training in clinical hypnosis and psychodrama. He has been a pioneer in the integration of psychotherapy with body therapies. He is the creator of the Emotional Shifting Process.
Dr. Schulman’s areas of interest include pain management, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma release, sports psychology, smoking cessation, treatment of adolescents, marital and family therapy and transpersonal psychotherapy. He is in private practice in Sarasota, Florida.
