What does it mean to find rest for your soul? How can you find rest in a world of constant turmoil and unrest? In the Book of Ruth, we see Naomi and her daughter-in-law, Ruth lose everything including their husbands, wealth, royalty, and honor. In the midst of the calamity, Naomi tells Ruth:
Ruth 3:1 (Chabad.org) “1 And Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, "My daughter, shall I not seek rest for you, that it be good for you?”
The word, rest in Ruth 3:1 is connected to the word, rest in Genesis 2:2.
Genesis 2:2 (RSV) "2 And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done."
