Listen

Description

Welcome to this week's Online Service, in which we try to hear a well-known parable with new ears - as Jesus frequently said, 'Let whoever has ears, hear!'  Earlier this week was St Benedict's feast day, and his 'Rule' of instructions for his monks is famous for its opening word - 'Listen'!  Like his master Jesus, Benedict knew that the danger is always that we may physically hear but fail to really listen to what the Word of God is saying to us today.  So let's allow Jesus's words sink in and really listen to what he might be saying - to us, now.

Tricia Rees-Jones, our musical director, has sung and played for this service, including more music from the West Harptree Organ and another clever descant!  Will Rees-Jones has worked his technical wizardry to pull it all together.  Our readings today have been read by Elaine Avery and Adrian Philips and our prayers by Guy and Gill Stobart.  Thank you to Adrian Moore for arranging those recordings.
