Children repeat the stories they see, so what does that mean for the kids who are witnessing terrible stories? When a child has a loving consistent adult, they begin to see that a different story is possible. Compound the number of consistent adults, and you're helping this kid build resilience. On this Episode of Eavesdropping, Melanie and Aaron discuss the critical role a mentor can play in the life of a child AND the role in the life of an adult. We may not be able to change the trauma a child experiences, but we can help a child build resilience and create a new narrative. We can do that for adults as well.
