Description

Merritt Minnemeyer, of "Master of One Coaching" speaks to us on the topic of "compassionate leadership." She begins by clarifying that compassionate leadership does not mean merely being nice or letting go of boundaries, but rather acknowledging that we are "humans working with other humans, and within the context of humanity." This means that leaders need to be aware that they are dealing with the entirety of the person while at work, and not simply the employee part, as we may not be aware of what might be going on in their lives. Minnemeyer explains that leaders need to be decisive, hold a vision, cultivate leadership in others, execute goals, and ignite creativity in those they work with while also staying on top of finding new ways to call forth those they are working with to be their best selves.
