Jeremy Rochford speaks to us about "The Snowflake Principle," which is not about politics, but rather learning to separate science from emotion when trying to lose weight. Rochford, who has lost 200 pounds and kept this weight off for over 20 years, explains that we must shift out of the "all or nothing mindset" when deciding to lose weight. Rochford also emphasizes the importance of intention when losing weight, especially in five specific areas. We must think, move, nourish, rest, and hydrate intentionally. Rochford says that this is nonnegotiable for anyone on the weight loss track, though how one goes about this will look different for different people. Rochford states, "You gotta do you, even when it comes to weight loss." Your plan needs to be a good fit in order to stick with it. When Rochford coaches his clients he uses a strengths-based approach, assisting them with keeping their thoughts congruent with their goals, and focusing on what they "can" do. Lastly, Rochford says that self value is at the core of successful weight loss, as you've got to love your way to a healthier body.
