By now Im sure you have heard about the historic night that happened this past Sunday. It was surely a night to remember for fans of Black Panther, Green Book and BlackKlannnsman. Regina King won her first Oscar Spike Lee won his first and Mahershala Ali won his second.Congrats to these winners and more during this host-less telecast.

Director, producer , writer extraordinaire Spike Lee had quite the winning monologue speech. He spoke on his grandmother. He gave a quick reflection about slavery and encouraged voters to vote their conscious in 2020. But it was his near walk off during the best picture presentation that ‘Green Book’ won and Lee’s after Academy comments that has sparked conversation. A conversation that has been brewing at the Oscars ever since the movie ‘The Help’.
Lee is still a little soggy with the Academy for his loss to ‘Driving Miss Daisy’ which starred Morgan Freeman. His movie ‘Do The Right Thing’ he believed should have took home oscar gold 30 years ago.
Sooo—is the Oscars more in favor of movies depicting blacks in more subservient type roles, than roles which portray black people in power. ‘Green Book’ was an awesome movie by the way and deserving of the award. But what are your thoughts. Is their a built-in bias by Academy Award vores on exactly what types of movies take home the golden man statue. Sound of in comments below...
