:60 More than Just a Word
The usage of the term faggot has been as widely divisive to the lgbt community as the word Nigger is to the African-American community. No, it doesn’t hold a term of endearment to the LGBT community, yet ist an expression of hate, ambiguity, insecurity, secrets, mistrust all wrapped into one word. But local Orlando Artist who goes by the name of Lil Jiten decided to embrace the word while dispelling all possible scenarios of someone outside of the lgbt community to use that term against him
:90 Lil Jiten Has a Big Following
The Song aptly titled ‘Faggot’ has given Lil Jiten an incredible following as a local Orlando native and his song has gone viral with fans submitted their own version of the song to this young artist on a daily basis. I caught up with this spectacular artist while he was working on writing his next big hit. He told me that the inspiration for this song has been vastly due to the mistreatment he has witnessed to the members of the lgbt community. While he being a young black gay male has also experienced notions of hate and being frowned on by members in the community. But as you can hear in his lyrics to the song ‘Faggot’ he speaks on other black males that are on the down low with baby mamas and other issues that did not allow them to come out the closet. So they hate on him all the while they secretly try to message him through gay chat apps and other mostly gay venues. Take a quick listen to his song available on soundcloud, youtube, instagram and other platforms. Warning the language used in the song may not be suitable for young ears listening to this podcast.
