Its a downright tragedy to see people that look like me and you locked up in jail and prison over an herb. A natural growing plant which has no recorded deaths of overdose. Being locked up may not even be the worse part. Watching the political moves by various states to implement weed aka marijuana as a ‘legal’ recreational drug while billon dollar enterprises get in on the act. Well— that should be considered a crime. At the very least. Downright shameful. Brothas and sistas have become slaves in those prisons. Now they see a profit and the tides are shifting.

If weed was about public health, Colorado and other states would have just had medical marijuana, not pass laws for recreational use. With medical marijuana there is only but a limited customer base which in turn means lower tax dollars. But by Colorado and other states making recreational mariguana use ‘Legal’ it widens the base of potential customers therefore ensuring huge windfalls for both state and local government, and the growers and distributors. But nobody is asking the right questions like? Will some of those tax dollars go to rehabilitations and facilitation of the vast majority of people that look like me who had been locked up and served with severe minimum sentences for weed? An injustice has taken place. Its time for some of these phony politicians to make it right and foot the bill to help our people.
