Denise Alston is the grand-daughter of the owners of "Alston's", the iconic corner store on Palisades near the intersection of Englewood and Teaneck. Her father and Uncle, George and Ronnie Alston, were members of the Englewood police department. She recollects a town where work, school, youth activities, friends and family were within walking distance.
