Description

Greenwood grew up at Sedbergh school, where his rugby took to the stage alongside his cricket. He then went on to Durham University to further develop his studies. It wasn't until after working for HSBC that he then took to the field and started to get noticed.

Will described himself as skinny, slow player that certainly wasn't in competition for one of the spots within the England Rugby squad.

In this episode you'll hear him say "If I can play for England.. anyone can". The facinating thing is... how did he make that happen?

Will went on to play for the 1997 Lions tour as an uncapped international underdog an achievement like no other. Following this, he then went on to play in two more Lions tours; became a 2003 Rugby World Cup Winner and achieved 55 caps for England. You may now see Will commentating with Sky Sports for the 2021 Lions tour - one of Greenwood's many post-rugby activities.
