Born and raised in a Brooklyn, New York housing project, Bill Newsome discovered early on that he was destined for greatness. Excelling in school and fueled by a passion for basketball, he embraced the challenges of his neighborhood with determination and drive. His academic achievements led him to a successful career with the NYC Employees Retirement System, where he dedicated his time to helping countless individuals, including high school students, secure their futures.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bill has remained deeply committed to his community. As a volunteer basketball coach at his local recreation center, he continues to mentor and inspire young athletes, passing on the same discipline and passion that shaped his own life.
In 2024, Bill embarked on a new chapter—retirement and authorship. His book, When Love Calls, You Better Answer, is a heartfelt reflection on his life, lessons, and the profound impact of love.
