Over the course of his career, Rich Orloff’s work as a playwright has received over 1000 productions on six different continents, winning him several awards and positive reviews along the way. Yet his solo-show It’s a Beautiful Wound, which he had been touring across the United States prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, is his most personal work to date, exploring his struggles with mental health and how the usage of psychedelics helped him recover and heal from past events in his life.

For this week’s episode, Anthony spoke with Rich about his writing process behind It’s a Beautiful Wound, his NYT-acclaimed comedies Big Boys & Funny As a Crutch, his documentary theatre piece about the Vietnam War entitled Days of Possibilities, and more!
