Description

After years of working in advertising, and then as a reviewer for the Off-Off-Broadway Review, Doug DeVita first ventured into writing plays purely as a favor to a friend. From stories from his childhood to behind the scenes tales in the entertainment industry, he is not shy about what inspires him to continue long after that favor led him down that path, to the point where he can no longer stop writing.

For this week's episode, Anthony spoke with Doug about the role that mothers and martinis play in several of his plays, how growing up gay in the 1970s inspired his acclaimed play Phillie's Trilogy, how he hopes his latest play The Hamburdian Candidate will be viewed after Election Night, and more!
