This 2nd of the 3 letters of the Apostle John (Jesus cousin) arrive at a critical time for believers when dangerous heresies were being thrown at the Church (not much different than today). The believers needed to have someone proclaim the truth about who Jesus really was without any confusion. And they needed to have taught and confirmed the boundaries concerning ethical living. So John, “the one Jesus loved” steps up and delivers. What is God saying to you right now? So what? What will you do about what He said to your heart right now?
