In today’s reading, Matthew tells us about the early stages of Jesus’ ministry. Since temptation is a major part of all our lives as humans, Jesus needed to show us the victorious pathway through those troubled waters. He responded to Satan's temptations with appropriate quotes from the Old Testament scriptures, even when the things that were laid out before Him were tantalizing.
