Here's what a lot of people do not know, sin is what it is because God is who He is. The reason why sin is what we call it today, it is because God is holy. The word sin in the Bible has different meanings however one important meaning is "missing the mark." So this means that there is a standard that God has put up, when we miss this standard, we sin against Him. So is sin a thing? Can we say that sin is a real concept? If we indeed take the premise that God is holy, then sin is a thing. If, however for some reason believe that God is not holy, then sin is not a thing. The latter premise is found to be wanting because we have ample and lucid proof that God is holy, therefore, sin is a thing.
