ABOUT THIS EPISODE: This week's episode is a gift. Erica Schimelpfenig is the Executive Director of YouthWorks. Like youth ministry, the missions field has a reputation for being led by primarily white men. What is it like to lead as a black woman in a primarily white space -- especially in Minneapolis, the home of the murder of George Floyd and the very public trial of his murderer?
ABOUT ERICA SCHIMELPFENIG: Erica has spent the past 20 years at YouthWorks in many different roles. In her current role as President, Erica gets to live out her passion of pointing teenagers toward God through service experiences that broaden perspectives and help develop lifelong passions. Erica lives in Minneapolis, MN with her husband, Cody and their 3 kids.
