Greg made history with a 2:09.00 victory at the 1983 Boston Marathon, a title that stood for over 30 years. He also holds 10 American road racing records, 2 world records, and has won the River Bank Run seven times in his hometown of Grand Rapids.

We dive into Greg’s journey, including his training for Boston, tips for the course, and his legendary career, which includes breaking the four-minute mile and winning the 1978 U.S. cross-country title. Greg was inducted into the University of Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor and the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.
