This was inspired from reading a recent "Dear Prudence" letter where some Pollyana wife was buddying up to her husband's estranged mother and apparently not respecting his lived experience (which she claimed not to be aware of) that led to the estrangement.
Yes, that's a pic of Faye Dunaway playing Joan Crawford from "Mommie Dearest" cutting her daughter's hair against the daughter's will. Someone's childhood indeed may have been THAT traumatic. I found this when trying to find a different image from that movie since I had that in an old LiveJournal icon.
