Many who have great callings have seen great falls because their character didn't match their calling. God doesn't want that to happen to us. He convicts us to remind us that the plan is still on, but there are things we have to change in our lives for it to come to pass. This is way different from what the Devil does. He will go on to condemn you saying you don't deserve great plans because you messed up. Remember this though... God does not take back the gifts He blesses you with. He wants you to fulfil the dreams He has given you!
