There always comes a time in a son's life when he looks at his father with respect and awe and says 'what a man'. A few years later in his late teens, he again looks at his dad and says 'what a man', but this time disgusted and ashamed. Every mom whose arms were so comforting and everything she said was music soon became a pest in your life.
Does that mean that after a certain age, children grow wiser than their parents? Why then do parents keep instructing and advising their children over and over again about stuff they already know? Don't they know that children grow up to become adults? Why don't they understand? How long will it feel like a heavyweight being tied around one's neck? How can one live with such annoying people? When will they realize how wise and learned their children are, and start giving them the space and respect they deserve? WHEN???
(sigh)......Just out of curiosity, isn't there a teeny tiny possibility that we're missing out on something? Is our perspective the absolute truth? Come on, they're mom and dad.......think again.....
