On this episode James welcomes Josh Heller back to the show to continue their studying to prepare Josh for the CrossFit Level 3 examination. This time they start with an A&P quiz to review topics from the last study and then begin to cover the topic of nutrition by discussing the "Simple Nutrition" five-part video series featured in the CrossFit Journal. The presentation is given by Coach E.C. Synkowski who breaks down the first two sentences in CrossFit's 100 Words of Fitness written by Greg Glassman: "Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake levels that will support exercise but not body fat." Topics covered here in Part 1 are: macronutrients, micronutrients, nutrient density, nutrient synergy, protein, and fat.
