The Way of St James – usually known as the Camino de Santiago – is the pilgrimage route to the shrine of the apostle St James the Great in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, north-west Spain. I will be setting off to Santiago from Porto (Portugal) through the Portuguese route. It is one of the greatest adventures in Europe and the second most visited pilgrimage route after the French route. If you want to know more about the origins and symbolism of this pilgrimage, do not miss my new episode.
