Lucid Dreaming Part Three
Does the Sailor control the Sea
Based on the book Journey to Ixtlan: The Lessons of Don Juan by Carlos Castaneda
Lucid Dreaming - Gateway to the inner Self by Robert Waggoner
No sailor controls the sea. Only a foolish sailor would say such a thing. Similarly, no lucid dreamer controls the dream. Like a sailor on the sea, we lucid dreamers direct our perpetual awareness within the larger state of dreaming.
Carl Jung maintained that the shadow element may adopt the guise of dream figures to interact with the dreamer as they seek integration or acceptance by the conscious self to create a more fully integrated self.
When you become lucidly aware in a dream, you can recognise that something needs a resolution. You can consciously intend to understand the place of a figure in your dream and what it represents. In the process you can receive both a conscious answer and an infusion of energy into your awareness.
Welcome to the Dream realm.
Sweet dreams.
