In this episode, I discuss empowerment and why that word is the focus of my brand to include my Facebook my YouTube channel and this podcast! I went to college at Auburn University, and my first job there my freshman year was as a banquet server at the auburn university hotel and conference center. The general manager often coached us and guide us to be empowered as employees to make decisions based on our integrity to create a special atmosphere for guests. For example if I was working a luncheon and I guess requested a beverage or food item that was not on the menu for the day I would do everything I could to figure out how to get an alternative for that guest even if it meant going outside the hotel and somewhere in town to pick up a specialty item for them. Another example would be working the front desk if a guest room was not satisfactory for a particular reason the front desk employee had the ability to offer to compensate them for that room or offer a free meal at the restauran
