On this episode of the Sounds of Stonebridge Podcast, we met one of our newer members, Larry Boritz. Larry is a former NYC Police Sgt. One of his areas of expertise became helping people stay safe which has led him to his second career of teaching the various Martial Arts. Larry owns the martial arts dojo that is just north of Stonebridge on 441, next to Angelo's Pizza and Dunkin Donuts. Larry also discussed how he has moved many of his classes and private lessons online. We also discussed how gyms and related fitness facilities have been given the green light to open during phase 1 of the re-opening plan. The issue is, will the general public come back so fast? 40% of members have indicated they are not anxious to get back into gyms so fast. Jeff Hall also gave us an update of the golf situation in Palm Beach Count. Over the weekend, there was an online petition circulated by many of the clubs in the area to allow members to resume playing golf sooner than later using strict social distancing, sanitary and common sense guidelines. We will have to see how those discussions progress.
