Description

On this episode of the Sounds of Stonebridge, we invited our neighbor and attorney, Irwin Aronson to join us.  Irwin specializes in labor law and has some unique perspectives about how the Coronavirus crisis has changed the employee-employer relationship, in both the short and long term.  We discussed issues ranging from privacy to how employers are going to find the right balance between keeping their employess and families safe, while also finding the best route to re-engaing with suppliers and of course consumers.  Jean wanted to get into the subject of employers making masks a mandatory item for employees at various industries and how they will be able to enforce those rules.  Irwin indicated there are questions that he is dealing with at the moment that had not been on his radar previously.  Things are changing so fast and without guardrails in some cases making every decision one that has not been made before.  He was quick to remind us however that many of the labor organizations that he works closely with like the Teamsters, food processing plant workers and many others stayed on the job and worked through this crisis so that we all could get the day-to-day items we need to exist.  Maybe take a minute and thank someone like a truck driver making a delivery or that cashier at Publix for being there for us when we needed them most by continuing to work during this crisis.  Tomorrow is "Financial Friday" with Ken Nemery, on the Sounds of Stonebridge.
