In Matthew chapter 22 Jesus has been fielding questions from the Pharisees, Herodians, and Sadducees. Now He asks them a question that they are not able to answer. As Jesus is further declaring his messiahship in this question, his question challenges their perceptions and understandings about who the Messiah might be.
