In Season 5, Episode 6 of Inside the Labyrinth Podcast powered by the Non-Profit Reps For Responders, Frank and Jay had the honor and privilege to speak with retired NYPD Detective Ralph Friedman, known as the most decorated Detective in NYPD history. This was our second in person and filmed episode and we had a blast! In this episode Ralph opened up about his journey in his Labyrinth as he was very dedicated to sports and weightlifting in Highschool. This helped Ralph mold him into the man and detective he was while working and still today! Ralph shared many stories of before he was on the job, while he was on the job and gave excellent leadership advice to Law Enforcement Officers who are working today. One thing Ralph stated on the podcast that I will never forget is what ever he was going through on the job or off the job he could not do it alone. Ralph gives credit to all of his partners, uniform back up and 99% of his bosses. For any Law Enforcement Officer active or retired this is a must listen and must share! For any NYC resident past or present this is a must listen! Thank you Ralph for coming on our show and sharing your strength, experience and hope!
Ralph is the author of Street Warrior: The True Story of the NYPD's Most Decorated Detective and the Era That Created Him. You can find his book on amazon! https://www.amazon.com/Street-Warrior-Decorated-Detective-Discovery/dp/1250106907
"Ralph Friedman, the most decorated detective in NYPD history, takes viewers inside his white-knuckle investigations in the new series STREET JUSTICE: THE BRONX on Investigation Discovery. In the 1970s, Friedman began his police career in New York City's infamous 41st precinct, dubbed "Ft. Apache." He was involved in some of the Bronx’s most intense cases, from homicides to undercover busts and deadly shootouts in broad daylight. He was promoted to detective after five years, and his extraordinary career has been commemorated with 219 awards, including the department’s second highest honor: The Police Combat Cross. This led to Ralph having a total of 259 awards. Ralph was involved in 15 shootings while working. He has more than 2,000 arrests to his name."
