Ben Sigmund is a former New Zealand Footballer, with over 30 caps for New Zealand's national side "The All Whites", as well as over 180 caps for New Zealands only professional side "Wellington Phoenix".
As a defender, Ben had to work hard from day one to prove he was good enough to play at the highest level. Now considered a club legend in Wellington, it was not always easy for him. Ben talks about how he chose to prove his doubters wrong, and make himself as valuable as he could for his team. We chatted about earning the respect of others, facing criticism, and coming back stronger after disappointment.
Ben was also apart of the New Zealand squad that qualififed for just the second FIFA World cup in 2010, beating Bahrain 1-0 in Wellington in what is considered one of New Zealands most iconic nights in sport.
