In todays episode I am speaking to Tasha Bee a community artist based in Bristol, UK. With a background in graphic design and illustration, Tasha works across many mediums and enjoys using art and creativity to empower herself and others.
In her own practice, she enjoys getting messy with hands-on processes and developing new skills. Having worked in the art’s and health sector for the past few years - she is passionate about the therapeutic qualities of art making. She works with a variety of groups to deliver creative workshops and her focus is to nurture a safe and supportive space for individuals to embrace creativity and to uncover hidden talents, connect with others and improve wellbeing.
She started her small business, Pot Heads Pottery in 2018 and enjoys encouraging people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to get their hands dirty and have a play with some clay. There have now been almost 1000 Pot Heads created by the population of Bristol and Tasha plans to take the Pot Heads further afield soon with her Portable Pottery Studio, which she is currently building in the back of a van! We discuss how she got started and why art is for everyone.
I hope you enjoy :)
