As the islands mark the 3 year anniversary of the 7.7 quake that shook the islands, Hazard Management Cayman Islands says it taking the opportunity to conduct an earthquake 'road show,' to raise awareness of the threat of seismic activity. Staff have been on the radio discussing the earthquake hazard, an earthquake video has been playing at the Camana Bay cinema and members of the HMCI team have been providing awareness sessions at various locations.
HMCI Director, Danielle Coleman meantime has just wrapped up the Multi-Agency Gold Incident Command Course in the London ...which incoming Cayman Governor, Jane Owen also attended. The course develops confidence, understanding and ability of participants to perform the role of gold commander by planning, implementing and reviewing a multi-agency strategy for a major incident or civil emergency.
