Description

Today is Monday, February 24, 2020 and here is your Daily Devo.

Malachi’s ministry was around the time of Ezra and Nehemiah. As a post-exilic prophet, Malachi is speaking to a people who had experienced the faithfulness of God in returning them to the land. God wrote the record of His faithfulness with indelible ink, yet even though they had the advantage of history on their side, they still questioned the love of God. Hence, the Book of Malachi opens, β€œI have loved you” (Mal. 1:2). They had forgotten. They had spiritual amnesia. And their spiritual amnesia made them spiritually weak. There was no passion in their sacrifices, only routine. There was no honor in their worship only lip service and detached activity. Something needed to happen if their lukewarm worship was to be made right once more.

Think about this: What are some of the causes that lead to lukewarm worship? What are some of the ways you can guard against going through the motions in your walk with Jesus?
