Jo qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1994 and then completed a BSc in Midwifery in 1999. Jo practiced in a range of clinical midwifery roles and her passion for intrapartum care, ultimately led her to practice in a leadership role as a Labour Suite Coordinator. Jo is an active Newborn Life Support Instructor with the UK Resuscitation Council. Jo’s Masters research was in Preceptorship, and she is currently Assistant Professor in Midwifery University of Nottingham. She leads on the undergraduate courses; Year 2 Clinical Practice and year 3 Enhanced Maternity Care and the postgraduate course The Examination of the Newborn (NIPE).
Mandy qualified as a midwife in 2007 and is Assistant Professor of Midwifery at the University of Nottingham. Her areas of expertise are within intrapartum care, and bereavement care. She was also previously a Supervisor of Midwives. Mandy is the Midwifery Practice Learning and Clinical Skills Lead for the BSC (Hons) Midwifery Degree. She leads the year three Practice Course, Advancing Midwifery Practice. She also is Course Lead for The Professional Midwifery Advocate CPD module. She is a link tutor to Nottingham University Hospital (NUH) Trust.
