If you haven’t already figured it out, I’m a huge music fan. So for me, last night’s episode of a year long season of Verzuz battles, was indeed special and iconic to me. Credit goes to Timbaland and Swizz Beatz for bringing together two of the biggest and longest lasting black musical groups for Easter Sunday; Earth, Wind & Fire and The Isley Brothers. I cried, I sang, I filled with joy to the music that was played and to the live performances of each group as the music played. This episode I explain the significance of each act, the importance and the respect to them, highlights of last night’s event, and what Verzuz is and means to the culture, especially during a pandemic. I also mention battles of the past and ones I would love to see in the future.
