Description

"That was the first time I consumed alcohol and I guess felt the numbing side effects of what it gives. Some people I'd consumed alcohol before, but never to the extent of wanting to not feel basically. And I'd found out that my brother died very early in the morning. So I'd had a whole day of feelings, lots of feelings dealing with a lot of emotions."

In this episode we have Nicole Marso who is now 16+ months sober. She has gone through a lot in her short life. She became a mother in her early 20's, and around that time her younger brother who was 14 at the time took his own life. Which in turn sent her on a downward spiral of drinking for about 8 years. This is how she dealt with the grief of losing her brother at the time, and turned to the bottle. Then at the tender age of 29 she was admitted to the hospital with pancreatitis, this is when the doctors told her that if she did not stop drinking she would not see her kids graduate high school. Right then and there she decided enough was enough, and got sober! Today she is a small business owner of a boutique. You can find her today enjoying time taking care of her kiddos, and attending the Free Spiritual Community in Colorado. She also loves to dabble in crypto currency as well.
