In this episode I sit down with former Montreal Canadien and Soo Greyhound Graeme Bonar.
Once a highly rated prospect with the Montreal Canadiens, Bonar was a natural scorer who led the Ontario Hockey League with 66 goals for the Soo Greyhounds during the 1984-85 season.
But a nasty injury derailed his chance at an NHL career before it could start. Then there was a decade of addiction to alcohol, painkillers and cocaine as he wandered from one minor pro outpost to another.
We dig deep into what led him down a path of destruction, before he found help some 24 years ago in Hamilton, Ontario.
He is now an addictions counsellor at treatment facility in Milton, Ontario and loves every minute of this job, helping others get back on their feet.
If you're struggling with addictions or substance abuse, you will not want to miss this episode! Graeme breaks it down in so many ways, and shows that there is hope out there for everyone.
