Description

In this episode's conversation, we introduce a book we both really like and found very informative: "Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life", by Richard Rohr The book serves as a guide; insightful descriptions and wise counsel to navigate the territory of midlife. Second half of life is not about a specific age, though there's a general range of time usually. This concept could be compared to the well-known term "midlife crisis". But we delve beyond the stereotypes and into what we think is a pattern set up by God. The first half of life you typically build: career, family, identity, so on. Essentially, you are writing the script of your life and forming a sense of self. Often, that sense of self is heavily influenced by what the people in your life say and think about who you are. In the second half of life, you often begin to evaluate that script and begin to decipher who you are apart from who others say and think you are by getting in touch with the truest parts of yourself.
