Description

In this episode, we chat with Julie Tyrer, a Cabin Crew from 2012 to 2016.

Julie had the privilege of being Virgin Atlantic Cabin Crew. It was a dream job which she debated doing since graduating in 2005.

She took a sabbatical from Virgin to cover a maternity position teaching Travel and Tourism at Uxbridge College. Her classroom was an aircraft, it was just like being in SEP training.

She decided not to return to Virgin due to contact changes and spent some time as a Careers Advisor to pay the bills whilst she qualified as a Personal Trainer, with the plan to start her own business.

Whilst all that was going on, she got recommended for a position at QinetiQ, a Defence and Space company (literally rocket science... she's basically their Penny from Big Bang theory!).

She honestly believed it was the skills as cabin crew and that Virgin Flair that never leaves you which got her this job. She now lead the Development Programme for the apprentices and graduates. It took her a while to find her feet after leaving flying, but she finally found it!
