Today I had the opportunity to talk to a life long Calexican and poet, Mr Charlie Zamaripa. Charlie grew up in Calexico and he was a Calexico Unified School District student and it was here where his love for writing started. Some of the teachers he says inspired him to write were Mrs Rodriguez and Mr Thornburg. He recently published a book with some of his poems including "The Tragedy of Crazy Bear", a story that came to him in one night when a voice woke him up from his sleep and told him this story.
