Today I had the opportunity to talk to one of the candidates for Calexico City Council, Raul Urena. Raul is a recent graduate from UC Santa Cruz and is one of the founding members of the Imperial Valley Equity and Justice Coalition. We talked about what are some of the things he wants to accomplish as a city council member and how he plans on gaining the communities vote specially those older generations, among other things. Just a reminder this is not an endorsement, I am just interviewing some of the candidates so that the community gets to know them a little bit better and maybe it helps them make a decision come election day.
