Before the church or a steeple, there was always a people of God. That God had made for the explicit purpose of worship. God raised up Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in order to make a nation of priests and a royal priesthood. A people for himself. He called them Israel. He instructed Moses to tell Pharaoh to let my people go so they may worship me in the desert. Today religious freedom is under assault. In ways that we would not have predicted in America with the advent of the Covid-19 quarantine. Administered largely by the state, career politicians and unelected officials that don't understand the free exercise of religion guaranteed by the constitution. Is worship really essential?
