What was Sumathi interested in?
During drought, Sumathi and her husband moved from Kongu desam to Srirangam. She was intrigued after observing Swami Ramanujar in Srirangam teaching people from all walks of life. Before leaving Srirangam, She visited him and obtained the preachings and also got his padukas as a remembrance. Later in life, she had a good fortune to receive Ramanujar and his disciples at her home. Since then, she has been known as Kongil Piratti.
