Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi, William Thrasher, Jersey Jason discuss The Re-Animator. A modern day adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's novella Herbert West-Reanimator, this dark take on Frankenstein involves medical student Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs) wanting to reanimate the dead.
More horror than comedy, Re-Animator features great gore special effects despite its modest budget. Stuart Gordon directs the performances at a perfect pitch. Richard Band's score, which sounds not unlike Bernard Herrmann's iconic Psycho theme, adds to the terror.
