Bengaluru city has been trapped for years in a twister of traffic woes. With the roads packed far beyond their capacity by an unrelenting onslaught of ever-increasing numbers of vehicles, smart traffic management has become extremely critical to maintain a semblance of order.
It is in this context, the new Special Commissioner of Traffic, M A Saleem, with years of prior experience in the city, has revived the Citizens’ Traffic Forum meetings. In this episode, DH Radio's Rasheed Kappan speaks to Mr Saleem on the Forum and how it can help decongest the city through a decentralised approach.
